9:15 a.m. Dielectric Testing (AC vs DC)
The maintenance requirements of the current A92.2-2009 standard are retroactive and require all insulated aerial devices regardless of date of manufacture to be tested to the requirements of table 2. The differences between AC and DC testing will be covered as well as the advantages and the disadvantages of each method for all the required tests. The test procedures for periodic testing of high resistance handles will be covered along with the dry method of testing liners.

3:45 p.m. BGE’s Close Quarters Maneuvering Skills Training
BGE’s close quarters maneuvering skills training is a two part, instructor led program. Course objectives are to provide insight into the elements of the driving task; control, guidance and navigation. Trainees also learn how to create a collision avoidance tool kit, through skills building, application of best practices and strategy development. Additional key topics include pre-positioning vehicles, blind spots and spotter safety. Learn how this program has been instrumental in changing a trend of increasing close quarters collisions and enhanced driver skills.
