Joe will start off with the basics behind getting electricity delivered from the generating plants all the way to the customer. He will describe some of the equipment that makes up the T&D system and that assures reliable service and will give overviews of the what those green (in our case) “power boxes” are out by the street. “Smart Grid” is a term that is being tossed around a lot lately. Could you, as a utility employee, explain what it is and what your company is doing? To help you out, Joe will explain the Smart Grid basics, some of the applications that make it up and what exactly makes it “Smart”.
