Southern Company’s “Enterprise Solutions”, a Multi Million Dollar ERP Project
What it’s really like to design, build, and implement a multi million dollar software solution? In 2006, Southern Company executives gave the go ahead to totally overhaul its supply chain, work-order management, and financial accounting systems. This undertaking would involve a dedicated team of over two hundred and fifty full-time employees and contractors four years from start to finish. Come listen to an “un-official” account of implementing this mega ERP project. Get a first hand account from Carmine Reppucci, one of the Project Directors and hear his take on what went well, and more importantly, what were the some of the “pitfalls” that challenged this project. He will give you his un-biased opinion of what it’s really like to take on a project of this magnitude. This presentation will touch on why the decision was made, how they planned on accomplishing it, and what valuable lessons were learned along the way.

How do I ensure that my investments in distribution assets appropriately balance performance, cost, and risk? This is a challenging question that every utility faces. Dominion embarked on an initiative in 2005 that sought to answer that question. Now, after almost 5 years, we will share how we approached this issue, the lessons learned along the way, and where we are right now.
